Your bigger "yes" !

I recently read this quote, and thought how it can apply to so many things. Whether you are trying to lose weight, quit smoking, change a bad habit, or live life differently, this quote applies. You have to say no to some things, and say yes to others in order to achieve your goals.

Putting your priorities in order and sticking to your goals requires not only discipline, but time. That is why many of us slip up, fall off the wagon, or turn back to our old ways, especially with eating. Our lives get busy, time is short, and it's less hassle to do what's easy, and what we've always done in the past. We forget our initial commitment, and the reasons why we want to make a change. It takes time and commitment to change our ways and to stick to the plan. Often we're short on both.

So when life is short on time, I'm going to step back a bit, catch my breath, and refer back to doing what I know works. A change can start with your next bite. Sending love and hugs to all of you!

Thought for the day:  See above!

  1. Good quote Pattie. Sticking to our goals takes discipline, time and commitment. It's hardest when there are so many things going on at the same time. I think you're doing great!

  2. That is a great quote, and so true. I hope you are doing great, and not too stressed over wedding prep. Can't wait to see pictures of the wedding. :) Hugs.

  3. That is so true since it's easy to be swayed by friends/family. No one tries anymore with me since it became obvious my resolve was too great. But you know, they say things like, "it's just one" or "you've been so good you can treat yourself" or "everything in moderation" (I hate this one most). I strongly say, "no thank you" and move on ... it feels GREAT to be this in control of what I eat. Look forward to wedding photos!

  4. That fact that you are even thinking about BFC when your mind must be so full of other things proves that this is a "cure". I love your posts as always so I am glad you are still thinking:)
Have a blessed and wonderful time!

  6. Thanks for sharing this quote Pattie - it's so true!! We make choices everyday about many things (what we do and in what order we will do it, who we spend time with, what we say, what we eat, etc...) and with each thing, we have to make a decision about "how" we are going to do it. I try my best to make good decisions regarding food - I just need to remember my "why" which is "bigger" than the "taste" of the junk food that I occasionally crave or binge on. Thanks for sharing Pattie - Have a great day :)
