Back on cruise control!

Good day everyone. I've missed blogging lately but I have been following everyone. I really enjoy all of your posts. Wouldn't it be great if we were closer and we could meet one day every couple of weeks to catch up and chat in person? We sure are spread out all over the place!

Today was weigh in day and I am happy to report that I lost 3 lbs from last week. I had gained last week, so I lost that and 6/10 more. So I am happy, and I know that the reason is that I got serious this week. I have been really portioning, and making my lunch ahead of time so it's ready in the fridge, and I also cut back on the bread for breakfast. Only one slice of Ezekial instead of two. I don't count calories per se, but the app that I use to track my food does. I pick for it to track sugar, carbs, fiber and it tracks a fourth category as well, so I pick calories. I could see by the amount that I was eating in a day, even staying within the BFC guidelines, that I was way overdoing it. I realized that I had to make some changes, or I would just be hanging around the same weigh forever. It's amazing how I lost just by doing those few things for the last few days.

I have been working alot too, and it helps to have stuff planned and ready when I need it.I've been packing a lunch in the morning and snacks too. Even when I'm working from home, it helps to just stop for a break and everything is a ready.

So I finally got my son to take a photo of me to post this week. I would like to see my progress as I go on this journey. So here's the good the bad and the ugly!! I couldn't find a place in the house with a neutral and/or empty background, so he just took it in my bedroom. I used to take pretty good photos when I was younger, but now I'm never happy with how I look. I'm hoping this will change for the better soon!

So thanks to all of you again for following along and for all your wonderful blogs. It is nice to have our little group for support. Until next time!

  4. You are so pretty:) It's fun to see before and after pictures. I wonder if I didn't take any because I didn't know if I could do it or not. Taking the pictures shows your commitment to keep going:)
We are lucky we have each other to vent to and that understands what we are doing.
I get your wine, I really do. If I was into wine I would have a much more active social life. It's hard to find people that want to join me for Frito's! I really believe that is why we can all do this for the rest of our lives, we pick the things that we will not live without and find a way to incorporate them into our lifestyle. I would NEVER have believed 5 months ago that I could have done this. When you average out what I have lost, it isn't some amazing story, only like 5 lbs a month, BUT it hasn't come with low calories, or doing without my beloved bacon and fritos. I have eaten quite well:)I am actually broken up with bacon right now, we are taking a break from each other:)

  7. First of all congrats on your weight loss!!! You pics are great and I agree with Kay taking pics helps with our committment to keep going. I am so glad that I have taken some pics along the way it has really helped me when I felt discouraged and wanted to throw in the towel. I also agree we need to be kinder to ourselves...it is way to easy to have kind understanding words for others and to be harsh, nasty and unrealistic with ourselves. This is hard to put into practice because many of our role models are kind to others but nasty to themselves and this is the behavior we learn.

  8. Pattie~
You are beautiful! We all look at ourselves & can find something wrong, hairs not right, tummys bulging, legs look chunky etc etc but the bottom line is "God doesnt make junk"!We are all beautiful & need to remember that. I know I get lost in all my flaws too from time to time & its hard to find the good parts sometimes but bottom line is, we are all beautiful.
Have a great day & week & keep on keepin on!!
