Two steps forward, three steps back!

Hello my friends. I'm super busy this week, trying to get ready for our trip, and tie up all the loose ends before we leave. Funny how we rush about trying to get everything done, just so we can do nothing for a week while on vacation and relax. Then we get back and rush to catch up on all the stuff that was building up while we were away. We need a vacation from the vaction! Ahhh, vacations! Can't live without them!

I just wanted to jump on this blog for a minute and say hi and also talk about my weight for my Wednesday weigh in. If you remember the ugly news, last week I was up 4 lbs. I am happy to report I got two of them off. Why, oh why are they so easy to put on, but so hard to take off. This is an unfair rule of nature. I formally protest it! Anyway, back on track and although I am not the model loser of this bunch, I will forge on and not give up...even if my weight loss is happening at a snail's pace!

I'm semi following the fast track, but today I had to have some ezekial toast with my breakfast. I agree with Rosalie, cutting out all carbs just doesn't seem right. So today I had them at breakfast, but that was it.

Thanks for all the great comments you leave. This one is for the hand lady, Linda. She made my pancakes, but commented on my one large pancake, while her recipe made three small ones. Linda, I did get your comment, but it comes in as a no reply, so I can't reply email you back. My email is pmcampbell@comcast.net. Email me your email address. That photo was of one large pancake...and it was a very large plate. I think three smaller cakes...a short stack would be better, so next time I will make them that way. Thanks for your nice comments.

Okay, I have a baseball game to watch. Go Phillies!!! Hugs to you all!

  1. Pattie, it always seems so unfair - the weight comes off twice as slowly as it comes on! It takes me far longer to take the weight off too. *sigh*

Oh, and I am certainly not cutting out all carbs, Pattie! The coconut bread has carbs, as does all of the veggies and any fruits. Heck, I haven't given up chocolate either! It's just grains, really. And I am finding it easy most of the time, just picking the meat and veggies out of whatever and leaving out the bread. I think I've mentioned to you before, it's easier for me to say no than to have just a little. Anyhow... don't get too stressed out planning the vacation!

  3. Hi Pattie, I hope you don't forget anything for your vacation. I wish you the best time ever!! Great job on the 2lbs. I know that was not easy, but don't worry you will get to where you want to be. I know you will.
Big Hug - Have a great day :-)

  4. Hi Pattie, congrats on losing the 2lb. I know life does not seem fair when we can gain like that and it takes forever to lose it. But you have the right attitude....stick with it no matter what. Hope you have a wonderful resting vacation.

  5. Pattie, am I the only one that thinks losing two pounds in one week is HUGE?! It also means you must have figured out a good menu for yourself that is allowing you to lose! Your trip to wine country sounds so nice! I hope you guys have the best time ever! By the way, my husband is from the suburbs of Philadelphia (Exton) and we are big,big Philly & Eagles fans here!

  7. I know what you mean about the grains. I think as soon as I get through this two weeks, I am going to add a slice of good toast to my two eggs in the mornings again. That seemed to hold me longer than just two eggs.

Are you going to wine country? I seem to recall you were the wine lover. Hope so--cause that is what I want to get my husband for Christmas/Anniversary/Birthday (unfortunately both of ours are very close to Christmas). Any recommendations?

  8. I so agree with you on first paragraph. It can be exhausting getting away! But once you are out the door, it will be wonderful. We used to live in the Bay Area 20 years ago, and the wine country is beautiful. Have a wonderful time!

  9. Enjoy your vacation and great job on jumping right back in when you had a bit of a gain. You will be successful or we will haunt you!!! 2 lbs is a great loss for the week!
I can't wait to see pictures. Is this wine tasting?

  10. I agree with your comment about gaining weight. I think I could gain a pound a day if I tried. Losing 2 pounds is awesome! Can't wait to hear about your trip. I like the idea of having carbs in the morning, then tapering off during the day & no starch at night...that's what I try to do.
